Lauren & David Wedding Invitation Design

It's always really flattering when I am asked to design something for another designer. I made this wedding invitation for my good friend David Miller, who is an art director from the ad program. He knew how much I love swirly, calligraphic typography and asked me to create a custom design for him and his (now) wife. For this I used an existing font, then added the extra swirls on to the ends of the letters to give it that decadent feel. I really had a lot fun making this one, they were the most fantastic couple to work with!

Brooke's Wedding Illustrations (part 1)

One thing you should know about me is that I LOVE weddings!! It's the most important day of a girl's life and I am very privileged when brides ask me to be a special part of their day. I'm especially excited to share these custom illustrated invitations I made for one of my very good friends, Brooke Taylor. 

She has some of the best taste I know and I couldn't be more honored when she asked me to create a custom invite for her and her husband. Her reception took place in an orange grove, so I used that for my inspiration and things went off from there. I also did a handmade map with directions to her venues, as well as an illustration of her wedding location, the Gilbert Arizona LDS Temple. All the illustrations were done by hand, as well as the cursive calligraphy.

 I've honestly never had so much fun doing invitations before. I love her unique style and charm. I highly recommend checking out the rest of Brooke's AMAZING orange grove wedding and the rest of her adventures on her beautiful blog...

I also made these cards as part of a fun gift that she delivered to her bridesmaids including an invitation, attire request, dates for important bridesmaid events and the last card is blank so she could write them a custom note.

I absolutely loved working with Brooke, and she must have loved my designs because when I finished her invites, she asked me to illustrate her entire guestbook which I'll be sharing in a later post!! Congrats to the happy couple!
